We are Brian, Isa, Kai, and Leo
Perfect Little Planet is where we document our adventures and tips we learn along the way to share them with friends, family, and the big wide world. Ultimately, we want to help you feel more confident when you travel. We share travel tips on where to go, what to do, and how to do it. Brian started Perfect Little Planet in 2007 when he was living in Aruba managing a tourist shop.
It was a way to share his experiences with his mom, but then other people started watching and following along, too. He kept posting adventures as he travelled with that same company to Mexico, California, and Alaska, where he met Isa in her hometown of Sitka!
We dated in New York City and married in 2009, then lived in Australia for a few months. Brian currently works in Strategic HR (think less Toby-from-the-Office and more shaping-culture-and-improving-employee-experience kind of HR) and Isa works as a graphic designer. Kai loves climbing and experiencing new things. And Leo loves to eat and pull things out of drawers. We save our money and travel as often as we can.
Every year, we try to do something epic:
- 2023 – We spent a week in Iceland and it was as magical as we’ve dreamed it might be.
- 2022 – We had another baby (Leo) and did a babymoon in Mexico.
- 2021 – We went to Dubai for the Dubai Expo and it was awesome!!
- 2020 – The pandemic changed a lot of our plans, but we were still able to visit the Redwoods in Northern California
- 2019 – Peru, Italy twice, Hungary, and Spain
- 2018 – We had a baby (Kai). And spent the summer in the Pacific Northwest
- 2017 – Hawaii, Athens, Berlin, and more Italy, followed by a 10,000-mile road trip around the US
- 2016 – Switzerland, northern Italy, and Dubai
- 2015 – Oslo, Paris, London and all over Turkey
- 2014 – Canada and the Caribbean
- 2013 – we went on a 3.5 month “flashpacking” adventure through Asia.
